SCHOOL FETE

Excitement is building with the fete just a few sleeps away.  Everyone has done a fabulous job coming together to prepare for the event and the weather forecast is looking good, so it should be a great night.

Previous fetes have been very successful and this year’s will be no different, especially since we have had to wait so long.  The 2023 Fete will have something for everyone, with lots on offer for both children and adults.

A fantastic range of food will be on offer, so tell everyone you know to come along and save themselves the job of cooking for the night.  For sale will be pulled pork rolls, baked potatoes, pizza, sushi, dim sims, hot dogs, sausages and hamburgers.  Vegetarian and Gluten Free options will be available in the canteen. The bulk of food sales will be happening in the courtyard and at the front entrance, but you’ll also find a BBQ down near the basketball court.

There will also be plenty for those looking for a treat, including fairy floss, the cake stall, ice cream, popcorn and lollies.  Those looking to quench their thirst will find soft drinks, juices, water & milk shakes for purchase. For the adults who would like a little time to relax, there will be wine tasting and craft beer tasting out the front on the synthetic turf.  Adults looking for a coffee will find that on sale in the canteen.

Parents who enjoy market stalls will be happy to hear that, at this stage, we have 16 external market stall holders coming along to display their wares.  They’ll be down on the oval.

There’s a great range of activities for kids, so they’re in for a big night.

Attached to this newsletter is a map, which tells you where all of the various stalls and activities are located……that will give you a sense of the scale of what’s on offer on Friday night.

All of our classes are busy this week preparing for the event and thanks to the many parents who have been donating things and working behind the scenes to help us help us get organised.

We have missed being able to hold big events such as this and are looking forward to bringing the school and broader Buninyong community together on Friday night to recapture some of what has been missing over the past few years.

** Please bring along your cash (notes & coins) as the majority of stalls won't have Eftpos facilities.

SCHOOL COUNCIL ELECTIONS

Nominations for School Council close today (Feb 28), so you’ll need to move quickly if you’d like to get a nomination form in (see nomination form attached).

This time next week we will be announcing our new School Councillors, however this will be delayed should a ballot be required.  The ballot process comes into play when the number of nominations exceeds the number of vacancies.  Newly elected school councillors will commence at the AGM, which is held in April.

OPEN MORNINGS

Early each school year we hold 2 Open Mornings.  These give prospective parents the opportunity to take a tour of the school.  A team of grade 6s (our Transition Team) are the tour guides on these days, which is a job they love.

This year our Open Mornings will be held on March 8th and 9th between 9am and 1pm.

Please pass the message on to anyone you know that has a child starting school in 2024.
