Premiers Reading Challenge
Following the completion of this year’s Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge on 3rd September, we are excited to reveal Karoo’s final tally.
A grand total of 2801 books were read and 221 awesome book reviews were published.
Our top 5 readers were:
Braxton R from 1M – 269 books read
Koah R from 2V – 250 books read
Mayasha E from 4M – 204 books read
Michael F from 4M – 140 books read
Chloe N from 6A – 132 books read
Our top year level – Year 1 reading a total of 777 books
And the top class - 1M with a total of 660 books
Foundation read a total of 317 books
Grade 2 read a total of 508 books
Grade 3 read a total of 316 books
Grade 4 read a total of 473 books
Grade 5 read a total of 132 books
Grade 6 read a total of 289 books
Congratulations to EVERYONE who participated on behalf of our school – prizes will be awarded to our top readers and our Library Captains will be delivering a special treat to 1M at the start of next terms Reading Challenge!

Design a Book Cover
As part of our CBCA Book Week Celebrations in August we ran our “Design a Book Cover” competition. Our Library Captains, Caine, Chloe and Zara took on the challenge of studying all entries and then carefully selecting one winner from every year level. The results were announced at our Year 1 and 2 Assembly last Thursday.

This week students are being reminded to search for and return their overdue Library books! Reminders will be issued at the start of Term 4 in order to keep borrowing current and disappointments minimal. Thank you for your support!
Book Fair!
As part of Karoo’s 30th Anniversary celebrations we will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair from Thursday 13th October! More details to follow next term!
