Junior results

Term 1 saw our year 7s and 8s represent the school in the SSV Keilor Division finals, and for three of the four teams, the results were favourable and qualification to the Western Metropolitan Finals was achieved by the respective groups.

Our year 8 boys played some magnificent football on route to consistent 3-0 wins in all of their matches and without conceding a goal the entire day at the City Vista complex. Our largest group of players (22) in a single year level, the year 8's demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and a marked improvement on their year 7 performance by progressing to the next round.

On the same day, our year 8 girls showed what a year of hard work at school and at home can produce by playing some incredible football for such a young group of girls to progress to the next round with three wins.

Although the result was pleasing for the players, for our collective coaching staff, it was the type of football played by both groups that made us most proud. Combination play, third player runs, controlled build up and fast counter attacks was the theme of the day for both the girls and boys, and the comments from he referees at two separate venues was a testament to the hard work being put in at the earlier ages to lay a strong foundation.

Our year 7 boys and girls also represented the school with great pride and for the first time since becoming members of the KDC Soccer School. Altough the girls lost their match to Springside West by a heavy margin (8-1), we know that history has told us that after one year of training in our program, the results and performances will improve steadily in 12 months time.

The year 7 boys put on a special show in their matches on their way to a 2-1 win in the final against Taylors Lakes. Fast, skillful and energetic, our year 7 boys also received glowing praise from the referees who enjoyed the way that they combined and communicated with one another throughout the day.

The first few week's of term 2 will see our year 9/10 girls and boys take their collective skills to the Keilor Division competition, and our 2007-born and younger girls and boys will attempt to qualify for the next round of the nationwide Bill Turner Cup and Bill Turner Trophy at Keilor Park.
