Soiree

Under COVID-19 restrictions the Music Department entertained a much smaller audience for the 2020 Soiree held last Friday. The event featured live performances from Wind Orchestra 1, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble 1, Chamber Strings, Guitar Orchestra 1, Chamber Choir, and Big Band 1. All other Marist ensembles featured throughout the night via recorded performances that were filmed during the break-up celebrations in Week 2. Despite the different format, the night provided an excellent forum to farewell our Senior musicians in a special night of high-quality music-making.

Peter McLoughlin Farewell

A big thank you to the students and staff that provided music for the Marist Schools Australia farewell celebrations for Mr Peter McLoughlin. Both the Chamber Choir and String Quartet performed at a very high level adding something really special for the College community.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Marist lower brass tutor, Dr Jamie Kennedy who has recently received his PhD in Music from Griffith University that investigated “Learning In Professional Orchestras”.
