SPORT NEWS

Term 1 Interschool Sport involved all the Grade 5 and 6 students and they all did a wonderful job in all the sports they participated in.  What has stood out this year to all our coaches, has been the sportsmanship and determination to learn and develop new skills.  Our dispositions of risk taking, persistence, collaboration, reflectiveness, creativity and inquisitiveness have been evident each week in our students and teachers.  We were thrilled to have the Rounders Girls team finish undefeated on the top of the ladder and our T-Ball Girls team finish second.  Both teams played in the Grand Final on Friday 8th April. The Rounders Girls team defeated Preston North East Primary School 18 - 7 and the T-Ball Girls team were defeated by Preston Primary 17 - 28.  Thank you to all the coaches for training, coaching and teaching our teams.

The Preston District has decided to implement Round Robin Gala Days for Term 2 Interschool sport. The same sports of AFL, Mixed/Girls Soccer and Mixed/Girls Netball will be played by all Grade 5/6 students.  Each student will play in one of these sports. Students will continue to train each Friday to learn their chosen/allocated sport and then participate on one full day against the other schools in a round robin format.  Grade 6 students get their first preference in their chosen sport as in previous years and Grade 5s will be allocated into the remaining spots.

The District Cross Country will be held on Wednesday 4th May 2022 at Bundoora Park. This event is open for all students in Grade 4 - 6 to try out for. Congratulations to all those students who participated in the trials. They will be announced today and permission forms will be sent via Operoo. Parents will be encouraged to and come and cheer on the students next Wednesday at Bundoora Park.
