Uniform orders are filled on Tuesdays.

Completed order forms need to be at the school office by Friday for orders to be filled and delivered to your child by Tuesday.

The Japanese Word of the Fortnight

がんばります (pronounced ‘ganbarimas’) which means ‘I’ll try my best!’ is the Japanese Word for Week 7 & 8 Term 2. You can say ‘がんばります’ (ganbarimas) to express your willingness to try your best in any tasks/activities.

Thank you / ありがとうございます (pronounced ‘aligatoh gozaimas’) for your continuing support for our Japanese program.

WASTE FREE WEDNESDAY

SOCIAL SERVICE

It was great to see so many donations being collected in Social Service for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

In Week 6 the classes that raised money were Prep A, Prep D, 1A, 2A, 2C, 2D, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 4B, 4C 5B and 5C. The Social Service Champions were 2C!

In Week 7, the classes that raised money were 1D, 2B, 2C, 2D, all the grade 3s, 4C, 5A, 5C, 5D, 6A and 6C. The Social Service Champions were 6C!

So far, we have raised $390 for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. We have small change and big hearts!

HANDS ON SCIENCE - GRADE 2

In Week 5 and 6, Grade Two students used all of their senses to learn more about the chemicals and materials that make up the world around them. They conducted many experiments, including testing the pH levels of different liquids and making (fake) snow!

Junior School Council is delighted to invite students and staff to Pyjama Day on Wednesday, June 21st. Wear your comfiest PJs to school!

This is a fun event to do something together as a VPS community.

Students must be wearing weather and school appropriate pyjamas, as well as shoes that can be worn outside. You might like to bring pair of slippers to wear in the classroom!

WANTED FOR THE ART ROOM

If you have any empty plastic milk, juice or laundry bottles we would really appreciated them for the Art Room.

Please rinse all bottles before sending them to us.

JUNE/JULY HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Bookings are now open for the Holiday Program. Please book via XPLOR, copies of the program are available at the school office.

Bookings close Friday 16th June at 6:00 p.m.

TRAFFIC DELAYS

There will be traffic management on Tucker Road near the intersection of Ellen Street for approximately 4 weeks. Please note there will be delays to north and southbound traffic.

CAMPS SPORTS AND EXCURSION FUND

If you are new to Valkstone Primary School (or an existing family with a new sibling starting at Valkstone) and you are the holder of a Health Care Card, you may be eligible for CSEF.

This is an annual payment, payable to the school, to be used towards camps, sports or excursion costs for eligible students.

Card holders with new Prep students are also eligible for some school uniform. Please bring your Health Care Card to the office and complete an eligibility form.
