Around the school this week

Assembly

In normal circumstances we welcome parents and extended family to our weekly assemblies, where we discuss the week's happenings and celebrate our students' achievements.  Unfortunately it is not possible to have visitors in the school due to the current coronavirus restrictions.  We will attempt to share our assemblies each week by video in our newsletters.  We hope you can all spend some time sharing the wonderful achievements of your children.

Flexischools communication app

FlexiBuzz has been discontinued and replaced by the Flexischools app.  We have now been migrated over to the Flexischools app for school communications.  Current users  will receive an email to complete your registration with Flexischools – (check your junk/clutter/spam folders in case it lands in there!).

Please complete the following steps to ensure you still receive important school communications:

  1. Click the link in the email to complete your registration
  2. Uninstall the FlexiBuzz app from your device
  3. Install the 'Flexischools' app from the app/play store
  4. Login to the Flexischools app on your device using the password set in step 1. Setup your personal details - select "Whole School" for the two questions Class/Year Level
  5. Scroll down to 'News' and click 'more' to see the newsfeed and other functions

*Available functions:

  • News (newsletters and other notifications)
  • Student Absence Notes
  • Contact / change details
  • Lunch Orders Menu
  • School Calendar

Please note:

  • the FlexiBuzz app will no longer work and must be uninstalled from your device
  • you do not need to add a student (Account settings) - we are not using that function
  • Orders function is not being used - please do not add $$ to your account

If you have any further queries please email help@flexischools.com.au or contact the school office.

Facebook

As advised in the email to parents on the weekend, we have created a Facebook page, "St Patrick's School, Nhill"

If you are on Facebook, please 'Like' our page and feel free to encourage others to join as well.  This page has been created to complement the information being shared through other platforms including the newsletter, email, Flexischools and PAM.

Please take the time to read through the Acceptable Use Guidelines on the Facebook page.  As noted on the page, we do not in any way endorse students creating their own Facebook accounts.  We do, however, encourage parents to share our page and news with your children through your own accounts only.

School Photos

Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions our school photos date has had to be postponed until later in the term.

Order envelopes will be sent home nearer to that date.

Breadtags

A small reminder regarding collecting breadtags - to assist the repurposing process please sort the tags into colours before bringing them to school.

Jolly Socks Fundraiser

Your children will bring home a box of 14 socks of various sizes and colours for you to purchase or sell to your family and friends.  We ask that the money from socks sold, or unsold socks, is returned to school by Friday 31 July.

New Laptops Storage

We were excited this week to take delivery of our new storage trolley for the class set of laptops.  This trolley will make our lives in the classroom much easier as it enables tidy and secure storage of the devices and their cords.  The recent donation from Nhill Supa IGA assisted with our purchase of the trolley and we again thank Steve Wilson for their support of our school, it is very much appreciated.
