Update from "South Coast School Sport"

 

Dear Parents/Carers,

 

Please find below a list of state sporting events that have been postponed or cancelled for Term 3 2021.

 

It is hoped a revised calendar of postponed events will be available early in Week 4, including rescheduled dates for South Coast athletics championships.

Postponed NSWPSSA and NSWCHSSA/All Schools events in Weeks 6-10 of Term 3

 

In line with the Premier’s announcement regarding the COVID-19 restrictions for Greater Sydney, the following events have been postponed:

 

  • NSWPSSA Rugby Union Championships from Tuesday 17 August to Thursday 19 August at Glen Willow Stadium, Mudgee
  • NSWPSSA Golf Championship from Monday 23 August to Wednesday 25 August at Brighton Lakes Golf Club and The Ridge Golf Club, Barden Ridge 
  • NSWCHSSA Athletics Championship from Wednesday 25 August to Friday 27 August at Sydney Olympic Park
  • NSWCHSSA Boys Tennis Championship from Tuesday 31 August to Thursday 2 September at Bolton Park, Wagga Wagga
  • NSWPSSA Girls Touch Football Championship from Tuesday 31 August to Thursday 2 September at The Central Coast Regional Sporting & Recreation Complex, Tuggerah
  • NSWPSSA Boys Softball Championship from Tuesday 31 August to Thursday 2 September at West End Fields, Mudgee
  • NSWCHSSA Girls Tennis Championship from Tuesday 7 September to Thursday 9 September at Parramatta City Tennis, North Parramatta
  • NSWPSSA Girls Softball Championship from Tuesday 14 September to Thursday 16 September at Rotary Cowpasture Reserve, Camden
  • NSWCHSSA Trampoline Sports Championship from Thursday 16 September to Friday 17 September at Niagara Park Sports Facility, Niagara Park.

Cancelled NSWCHSSA/All Schools events in Term 3

 

In line with the Premier’s announcement regarding COVID-19 restrictions and the time constraints relating to the effective organisation of events we wish to advise the following events have been cancelled:

  • NSW All Schools Secondary Opens Hockey Tri-Series on Monday 19 July at Newcastle
  • NSW All Schools Secondary Water Polo Quad-Series on Thursday 22 July and Friday 23 July at Woy Woy
  • NSW All Schools Secondary 15 years Touch Football Trials on Saturday 24 July and Sunday 25 July at Narrabeen
  • NSW All Schools Touch Football Quad Series on Monday 6 September to Wednesday 8 September at Mudgee
  • NSW All Schools Netball Tri-Series on Thursday 9 September at Sydney Olympic Park
  • NSWCHSSA Bowls Tri-Series on Tuesday 14 September and Wednesday 15 September at St Johns Park.

State Knockout Information

The ability of many schools to participate in our knock out competitions has been affected by restrictions due to COVID-19. We are still, however, supporting those schools who are able to play scheduled rounds. In addition, draws where possible, will be reviewed to accommodate maximum participation. We thank you for your understanding and support.

Please be advised that all scheduled knockout finals days have now been suspended (please see list below). We will provide regular updates regarding each competition and the potential for progression of schools.

With the current COVID-19 restrictions for Greater Sydney, we are mindful these events require travel for a number of families and staff and we want to provide our students, families and staff with as much notice as possible.

 

A revised school sport representative pathway calendar will be published with new dates and venues. We will provide regular updates for students, families, staff and schools regarding the new calendar.
