Skills West Careers Expo

On Thursday 26 August the Year 10 students participated in the Skills West Careers Expo held at the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre. Given the previous Careers Expo was cancelled due to COVID restrictions, this was a fantastic opportunity for students to talk with over 80 training organisations and employers, gain free career advice, experience career seminars, enjoy the interactive displays, and gather many fascinating free gifts on offer. The morning was well received by the students, with staff receiving positive feedback on the behaviour and positive interaction of our students with various stalls throughout the event. The students should be commended on their willingness to embrace the opportunity to further their knowledge on potential future careers.

As the photos below illustrate, students relished the opportunity to participate in the Skills West Expo.

NAS Athletics

On Tuesday 24 August, 170 students travelled to the State Athletics Centre to represent John XXIII College in the 2021 NAS Athletics Meet. This day provides the top five performing Year 7-10 students from each event from the Interhouse Athletics carnival the opportunity to challenge for a position on the ACC A Division Athletics Team. It was pleasing to have students display incredible participation along with a fighting spirit and support for others.

Thank you to Miss Jessica Pillera, Mr Jerram Gibson Mr Timothy Gillman for your support on the day with our team.
