Diocesan Athletics Carnival

On Tuesday the 23rd of August, I had the pleasure of taking our students to the Armidale Diocesan Athletics Carnival at the Tamworth Sports Dome. It was a cold and windy day but that did not dampen the spirits of our representative students who were able to compete on the brand new synthetic running surface for the first time, how exciting! The students achieved some impressive results in the heats of the running, many going home with heat place ribbons. Our relay teams ran superb races, mastering their change overs and supporting each other as team mates.

Congratulations to our school representatives:

Logan Allan, Troy Balint, Marshal Cook, Daniella Cortis, Alexander Cortis, Alex Davis, Bill Flett, Ricky Hird, Jorja Jamieson, Charles Lee, Archie McNamee, Joel Morris, Hendrix O'Loughlin, Kendall O'Rance, Ayla O'Rance, Billie Peach, Hayden Stockwell and Sienna Thompson.

A special mention to Daniella Cortis and Alexander Cortis who both made their 100m age race final. The races were both extremely close and split seconds separated 1st to 10th place. Both age groups had over 50 competitors, so to finish in the top ten is a super achievement!

Congratulations also goes out to Ricky Hird who came 3rd overall in Junior Boys Shot Put and qualified for the Armidale Diocesan Athletics Team to compete at the NSWCPS Athletics Carnival to be held this Friday in Newcastle. Good luck Ricky, we are very proud of you.

Armidale Diocesan Gala Day - September 16th, 2022 - Y3-6.

Please find the permission note on Compass. This is due this Thursday 8.9.22

This is a fun filled “come and participate” day open to all primary students. The school intends on sending a mixed Year 3/4 team and 5/6 team. The teams consist of 12 students meaning we only will have enough to send one team from each class. Therefore, it is important that notes come back quickly (first in first served).

A huge thank you to the parents and carers who have already filled in the permissions last night and offered to transport additional students. It is very much appreciated and certainly makes our organisational tasks so much easier.  If your child will not be attending, please respond to the note and choose the DECLINE option.

We still need a few more parents who would be willing to carpool our students to Tamworth on the day.  Please indicate your availability on the compass note when giving permission and making payment if you would be able to assist in carpooling.

We have had the opportunity to attend the Soccer Gala Day before and the children have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to participate and have fun being active.
