Stay Home When Unwell

The most important action school communities can take to reduce the risk of transmission of any illness, including coronavirus (COVID-19) is to ensure that any unwell staff and students remain at home, even with the mildest of symptoms.

If your child has any of the symptoms outlined below, however mild, they should test for COVID and they should remain at home until they are symptom free:

• temperature over 37.5C

• fever

• chills or sweats

• cough

• sore throat

• shortness of breath

• runny nose

• loss of sense of smell or taste.

In certain circumstances headache, muscle soreness, stuffy nose, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea may also be considered symptoms.

If you or your child test positive for COVID, please stay isolated from school for 7 days from testing positive, as Belmore School is considered a sensitive setting. Also, if someone in the student's household tests positive to COVID,  then the student is classified a close contact, and must RAT test negative each day prior to school and wear a mask if they attend school.

If your child has signs of gastro, please stay home for 48 hours once symptom free.
