Dear Families,

Welcome back to another exciting term at St Brigid’s. I hope you all had a relaxing and restful break. I enjoyed the break spending time in my garden and with baby Jade.

Term 3 is turning out to be quite a busy term, starting with Life Ed this week.  We are looking forward to upcoming events including Father's Day Breakfast and Stall, Book Week and a Colour Run just to name a few. We are also looking forward to the Parent Social Night on Saturday 7 August. The invitation went out on Tuesday so please make sure you RSVP so we can work out numbers for the venue. See the flyer in our News and Events page for all the information together with a link to CDFpay to purchase your tickets.  I am looking forward to catching up with you all on the night. It will be nice to get together after last year with COVID.

WELCOME

Welcome to Marie, who started with us teaching Italian on Tuesday. Marie works at two other schools teaching Italian and comes with a wealth of experience. We wish Marie all the best and welcome her to the St Brigid’s community. Please say hi to Marie if you see her around the school.

We would like to say a big welcome Jye G (1/2R) and his family.  Jye commenced with us in Year 1 at St Brigid’s this term.

STORY DOG FUNDRAISER

WOW! What a fantastic effort from our St Brigid’s community today. It was great seeing a touch of orange around the school. Lea and Georgie were here to help Havana, Kirra and Scarlett visit each class to collect our gold coin donations. We raised $218 dollars for our Story Dogs Program. Thank you for your amazing generosity!

SCHOOL DISCO

Our first fun event for this Term is the School Disco for the F-4 students. The flyer went out on Tuesday and we are looking forward to seeing as many students  - in their fluro - as possible at the Disco. The disco will be onsite in the hall.

Many thanks to Laura and Hayley (Foundation Parent Reps), the Foundation Parents and Andy Noble (DJ) for their time and commitment to make the Disco an event not to be missed!!  See the flyer in our St Brigid's News and Events page for all details on the Disco and how to purchase your tickets.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Just a friendly reminder to check in with your children if they are on social media. Holidays seem to be a time when social media is used more than normal and it is a good idea to regularly check in with what your child/ren are doing or watching - CyberSafety and Cyber awareness is so important  - it keeps your children safe.

FOUNDATION 2022 'GET TO KNOW YOU INTERVIEWS'

Can you believe it is this time of the year where we are doing our Get to know you interviews with our new Foundation students for 2022. We are commencing the interviews today (Thursday) and we will have interviews next Thursday with our existing families who have a child starting Foundation next year. I am looking forward to meeting with them all.

WELL DONE STEVIE

Congratulations to Stevie O (5/6AH) who tried out for the Victorian State Hockey Academy against 150 other boys and was selected into the squad. A great effort Stevie and we are very proud of you.

SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU SMILE!

It was lovely to see Matthew coming through the gate this morning playing his harmonica. In fact I enjoyed it so much we taped Matthew so you can enjoy it to.

Yours in partnership
