Topaz 2 Publishing Party

On Friday the 13th , Topaz 2 celebrated our young authors by hosting a Publishing Party. We

invited parents, families and carers to come along and share in the excitement of students

finishing their first unit of writing.

A few weeks ago, students went out to the Flying Fox for a writing experience. Then they

began ferociously writing about their time at the Flying Fox and swing. We have seen lots of

new learning happening in students’ editing of their writing (using capital letters and full

stops), adding more detail (when one student was on the Flying Fox they yelled

“AAHHHHH”) and creating amazing pictures to match their Recounts.

It was such a joy to celebrate the success of all our Topaz 2 students publishing their

Recounts with the people who came along. We can’t wait to do it again next term. Well

done to all our Topaz 2 students for trying their best while writing Recounts!
