Turquoise

In Turquoise, we have been learning about Recount writing and the students have had a number of language experiences to support their writing. These experiences have ranged from blowing bubbles, cooking, making a puppet, playing games, dressing up as well as creating things with lego and play-dough. The students learnt the structure of a recount, including what is needed in each section. As students completed each language experience, they focused on Colourful Semantics - the who, what, what doing, where and when of the activity. We then investigated using time and sequence words to record the order of the events completed. The students had a lot of fun creating personal comments to end their written recounts. We have all been blown away by the amazing standard of recounts the students have written.
