Secondary

Year 12 Breakfast

Our Year 12s enjoyed their annual MAG Year 12 Breakfast this morning, cooked and served by some of their favourite secondary teachers. The students chose to dress up with the theme of 'op shop'. The breakfast ingredients were very kindly donated by GV Dairy Distributor in Kyabram, which is owned by one of our school families.

Biology Classes come to an end

Yesterday the Year 12 Biology students undertook their final dissections; a sheep's kidney and cow's eye. This gave them the opportunity to review and consolidate their learning as they come to the end of the HSC course.

Congratulations, Will and Hamish!

Congratulations William Pike on achieving a High Distinction in the recent Australian History Competition! Will’s results placed him in the top 4% of students in his Year Level across Australia. The Competition aims encourage student interest in History and to reward student excellence.

Congratulations also to Hamish Smith, who is one of five recipients to be awarded a national scholarship to the Tocal Beef Cattle Assessment Course in the Hunter Valley.  The scholarships, worth $500 each, targeted 16 to 30 year old Angus Australia members who have demonstrated a strong desire to develop their beef cattle judging skills.  The course is widely recognised as the most practical and hands-on beef selection course of its kind.  The course was due to take place in September but has been postponed to 2022 due to COVID-19.  Hamish is responsible for many aspects of his cattle including reproductive and vaccination programs, collecting performance data, registering calves and exhibiting at shows.
