Book Week

Book Week 20-26 August 2022

Each year across Australia, the CBCA (Children’s Book Council of Australia) brings children and books together celebrating Book Week. During this time schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children celebrate Australian children's literature.

On Monday 22 August 2022 there will be a parade at Assembly and students and teachers are encouraged to come dressed up as their favourite book character.

Book Week provides the opportunity to celebrate literature in all its forms and various activities will be taking place in our classrooms throughout the week.

Author Visit

We are also very excited to announce that during Book week will receive a visit from famous children’s author Kelly Wilson.  Kelly has been a primary educator and literacy specialist for 24 years. She is passionate about children's literature and aims to bring knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for literacy into the hearts and minds of our next generation. 

Kelly’s love for literature led her to embark on her writing career.  In her very first publication, Kelly used humour and rhyming, together with her absolute love and wonder of animals, to create memorable stories.
