As always, a lot has happened in the intervening time since the last edition of APLI News.

Our annual general meeting was held in October 2020. Our continuing Chair, Odette Spruijt, gave an excellent summary of all that APLI achieved over the preceding twelve months: in particular the commencement of the Project Hamrahi review, a redesign of our website and three Project Hamrahi visits in early 2020 to Assam, Odisha and Gujarat.

The Executive Committee remained largely unchanged, with the departure of Judith McEniery. Incoming member Sarah Begley is an experienced Project Hamrahi mentor and has kindly agreed to assist us with our social media presence on Facebook, whilst continuing committee member Rachel Coghlan has done the same on Twitter. Details for these are listed below and also on the cover page for this newsletter, where you will also find a link to our newsletter archive.

Attracting and retaining members is highly important for a small organisation such as ours. We know that some members have had problems renewing their membership via our new website. If only teething problems didn't happen! If you have had difficulties, please email Davinia through info@apli.net.au for help. If you are not a member, we would really appreciate the ongoing financial support your membership provides for the work that we do.

Over the course of 2021, with work continuing on the Hamrahi review and collaborating with colleagues in the Western Pacific, please feel free to contact us via info@apli.net.au with any comments, feedback or if you would like to be more involved in our work.

In May, to coincide with National Palliative Care Week we will be holding a webinar. Details will be forwarded through Facebook, Twitter and by email to members.

On the next page of the APLI News is an brief report outlining the first meeting of the Advocacy Network for the Western Pacific. Their second meeting has just been held and a precis will be included in our next edition. I hope there is something of interest for you in the pages that follow.
