Congratulations

Jessica Proudlock from Year 11 has had another successful year in the pool for House and Interschool swimming. She easily won each event she entered for Hale in the House Swimming and then demolished her competitors at the Casey South Division Swimming Carnival. This took her to the Southern Metropolitan Region meet at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, where she placed first in 50m Breaststroke and 50m Butterfly, and second in each of 100m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke and the 200m Individual Medley. She swam a personal best time of 36.77 in the 50m Breaststroke! Jessica then swam in the School Sport Victoria State meet, also at MSAC, finishing second in the 50m Breaststroke by 0.10s, and third in the 50m Butterfly.

We heartily congratulate Jessica on her swimming achievements in 2022. The dedication she has shown to her sport and the manner in which she conducts herself in and out of the pool are exemplary and Lyndhurst is very proud of her.

National Schools Constitutional Convention

Ava Harrison from Year 11 went to the 27th National Schools Constitutional Convention where she explored and debated the topic “Does Australia need a Bill of Rights?” at the Grand Ballroom in the Hotel Windsor.

Ava was one of 25 Victorian students who was invited to the Convention which was held on Tuesday the 10th and Wednesday 11th May.

Congratulations Ava, a fantastic achievement!

Australian Masters Games

Congratulations to Ms Kinchindton  and her team, Monach Magic Masters, who attended the Australian Masters Games in Perth from 22nd April to 30th April.  The team played in the softball tournament over 8 days. They were extremely successful, finishing undefeated on top of the ladder during the general competition phase before eventually taking home a bronze medal after the finals were completed. Ms Kinchington played the role of catcher in 10 out of 12 games during the tournament (which is no mean feat by any standard!), along with batting and acting as designated runner. She also hit a home run in a night game against the Vikings with an excellent line drive down past third base to the boundary fence. In all, Ms Kinchington (and her team) had a fantastic tournament!
