Careers Expo

Our Year twelve students had the opportunity to visit the VCE and Careers Expo at Caulfield Racecourse on Friday 29th April. It was busy with a wide range of exhibitors such as university, TAFE and other tertiary providers, as well as industry groups focused on training and employment. A broad offering of seminars ran that students could attend, some related to subjects and study advice, other were industry based. Students collected course guides, information pamphlets and other interesting materials, and could speak directly with industry experts and tertiary representatives about their plans and ideas.

Our year twelve students will begin pathways interviews in term three with the Careers team to help them shape their next steps, and the expo is a great place to see all the options available. There are exciting times ahead for our year twelve students!

Old cars needed

Our Trade Skills Centre is always on the look out for old cars.  Students benefit so much from community donations so if you have an unwanted car sitting on your drive or in your garage, let us know, we will gladly take it off your hands for our auto workshop where students can develop their knowledge and skills and put your donation to good use.  (Cars are used for training purposes and will not be repaired for road use).

VCAL get their fitness on!

On May 5, our intermediate VCAL students walked to Cranbourne Fitness 24/7 over at the Cranbourne Homemaker Centre. This was also the same day it hailed intensely that it looked like the school was blanketed with snow.

Upon arrival, the students were welcomed and excited to get their gym gains in or to explore the large variety of gym machines on offer. Students had their own big private studio to work out in filled with weights, gym balls, punching bag and gloves and exercise bikes. They all took up the chance to exercise very quickly. Cranbourne Fitness 24/7 kindly allowed students into the public gym area so they could access the more intense machines for training. Students were extremely excited and thankful for being given the opportunity to explore and get their daily gym gains in.

Many were lifting weights, running on the treadmills, or focusing on leg day.

Students were sad that their gym session at Cranbourne Fitness 24/7 came to an end just as they started settling into routines. A lot of students were either very familiar with the gym, so they were in their element, but some had not been into a gym before and after this session were inspired to join at their local gym!

Thank you to Ms. Chinn and Mr. Atkin for supporting our intermediate VCAL students on their trip to the gym. Thank you to Kevin from Cranbourne Fitness 24/7 for allowing the students to come in and use all the equipment on offer.

Cranbourne Fitness 24/7 is located at 18/350 – 398 South Gippsland Hwy, Cranbourne VIC 3977. You can enquire about membership on 03 5995 8722.
