Secondary Diocesan Cross Country & Tennis

On Thursday 11 May, our St Philomena's Secondary Cross Country Team travelled to Armidale to participate in the Diocesan Cross Country Carnival. It was wonderful to see all students display high levels of sportsmanship and resilience on and off the track. Well done to everyone for braving the rough terrain and performing so well.

A special congratulations to the following students who placed in the top 6 of their age group Jaydah Duncan (3rd), Audrey Cooper (2nd), James Eggins (2nd), Hamish Maunder (1st), Katelyn Scholl (6th), Jack McDonald (2nd), Jacob Williams (3rd) and Rylee O'Dempsey (4th). These students have qualified to represent the Armidale Diocese at the NSWCCC Cross Country Championships in Sydney on Tuesday 13 June, 2023. Goodluck!

Northern NSW Football Visits St Philomena's

On Thursday 11 May, Northern NSW Football visited St Philomena’s School. Stage 2 and 3 students participated in a mini gala day playing multiple 5 v 5 games of football. It was a fantastic fun morning of students showcasing their sportsmanship and skills! 

Primary Moree Zone Cross Country

On Monday 15 May, our St Philomena's Primary Cross Country team travelled to Gravesend to compete at  Moree Zone Cross Country with Miss Russ and Mrs Moylan. 

 

It was a great day with students showing off their long distance running abilities on a tough track covered with rocks and holes! All students did a phenomenal job trying their hardest in preparation for our Diocesan carnival on Friday 19 May. Well done to all runners! A special congratulations to Colt Swan, Digby Adams and Darcy Osborn who placed first in their age groups. 

Primary Diocesan Cross Country

On Friday 19 May, our St Philomena's Primary Cross Country Team travelled to Barraba to participate in the Diocesan Cross Country Carnival. There were around 500 students from 21 different schools around the Armidale Diocese competing on the day. We had some outstanding results with all students running personal bests after lots of hard work and training. It was great to see so many St Philomena's students showing off their endurance running skills whilst having a great time. Well done to all our runners on an amazing job! 

A special congratulations to the following students who placed in the top 6 of their age group and have qualified to attend the NSWCPS Cross Country Championships in Sydney on Tuesday 13 June, 2023: Colt Swan (2nd), Digby Adams (3rd) and Nicholas Humphreys (5th).
