Suzanna Sheed Visit

MLA for Shepparton, the Honourable Suzanna Sheed, spoke to the Year 12 students during Homeroom on Tuesday June 11th.

Ms Sheed spoke to the students about her formative years growing up on a farm near Jerilderie and the teachers who had made an impression on her. She then spoke at length about her professional life as a lawyer and then entering parliament as the independent member for Shepparton in November 2014 and her re-election at last November’s state poll.

Ms Sheed then went on to talk about her particular passions - improving health, transport and education outcomes for the Shepparton electorate.

Following her address, Ms Sheed answered questions from the students. These included why she chose to stand as an independent instead of joining one of the main political parties and the costs associated with running an election campaign.
