From the Middle Years Leader 

Welcome back to Term 2 

A big welcome back, this term has started a lot smoother than most terms. I would like to thank students and families throughout such testing times.

Transition for 2023 

A timeline and letter was sent home to parents this week via their primary school to inform them of 2022 Transition dates for 2023. 

7 English 

Last term, students completed a poetry unit. They completed a series of poems including blackout poetry, paint chip poetry and an anthology. Here are some images of their paint chip poems. 

7/8 Business Innovations 

I had the pleasure at the end of last term to have a lesson with the Year 7's and Year 8's. We completed tasks through a jigsaw model where students became experts in an area of learning; they then shared this back into another group where they could relay what they had learnt. 

Middle School Snapshots

Middle school snapshots will be available for parents and caregivers on Monday of Week 6. These will be posted home on Friday of Week 5. Please read the letter and information provided along with the snapshot to understand where your child's current academic success level is. 

NAPLAN 

This week, year 7 and year 9 students have had two out of their 4 sessions, reading and writing. Week 3, will be Conventions of Language and Numeracy. A letter for NAPLAN was sent home at the end of Term 1. 

Students have completed Writing and Reading test. If your child has been absent, we have catch up sessions running each day.

7/8 Health and PE 

Students had their first nutrition practical last week. Here are some snaps of them making their mini pizzas.
