Welcome to the final edition of our Section Newsletter for 2018. It is hard to believe we only have a few weeks left at school! Thank you to the families who attended our Christmas Concert and supported our Performance Group and the PreCAL Market Stall. We hope you enjoy any of the products you may have purchased, the students put in an amazing effort over the term to create all of the merchandise.

Tech School Maker Fair Newsletter Report

Last week I was very fortunate to take a group of outstanding students to the Banyule Nillumbik Tech School Mini Maker Faire. Our team, Jessie R, Jessie J, Marnie C, Luca Z and Hardial S, presented activities and led demonstrations of some of our STEAM programs. They supported each other and worked as a team to coach the primary school students who attended the day. Luca and Hardial were also chaperones on the day and assisted the primary school groups move around the Faire. Below is a report on the day written by Luca.

On Tuesday 27th November some 9/10 students went to Banyule Nillumbik Tech School Maker Faire. Marnie, Luca, Hardial, Jessie R and Jessie J had the chance to meet students from other schools. We taught primary students to use Strawbees and Polydron Bridges to create something of their own. There were lots of other activities at the Faire like Robotics and Coding, 3D Printing and Drum Making. It was fun learning with other students and we all made some new friends. We think that everyone at Concord School should check out the Banyule Nillumbik Tech School.

Thank you for another amazing year at Concord. I would like to wish you all a safe and restful break. Goodbye and good luck to all families moving to Secondary 11/12 and for those of you joining us again in Secondary 9/10 we look forward to seeing you in 2019.
