Welcome back to term 3! It's hard to believe the year is already half over.

Curriculum Day

We started this term with a very successful Curriculum day that was focussed on problem solving in mathematics. The teachers spent time improving their professional knowledge with developing rich, problem solving tasks from prep to grade 6. It was a really valuable day and continues the important work that we have been doing to further improve Mathematics across the school.

Staffing Update

Jenny from the office will be taking some well deserved leave this term. While she is away, we will have Casey (Tues and Wed) and Laura (Mon, Thurs, Fri) replacing her. Jenny will return in Term 4.

Liz will be continuing in her Italian role but will be supported by Kiara Celestre as Liz will be dedicating more time to her student welfare role during term 3.

Rochelle will be at another school for 6 weeks, returning on 26th August.

Nude Food

Please remember that we are a nude food school and food wrappers should not be brought to school. Also please do not send food in glass containers as this could be a safety issue for our students.

2020 Enrolments

If you have a child starting school next year please make sure you return your completed enrolment forms along with your child's birth certificate and immunisation certificate as soon as possible. We will be sending out transition information to those who have enrolled later this term.

Cake Stall at Bunnings

We have an upcoming cake stall fundraiser and would love as much support as possible. Please see the flyer for details:

SPORT UPDATE FROM NEVILLE

HOBSONS BAY DIVISION TEE BALL COMPETITION

On Tuesday our Boys/Mixed Tee Ball team participated in the Hobsons Bay Division Competition at Greenwich Reserve. The team played three games and won them all and were crowned Hobsons Bay Division Champions.

Altona Green defeated St Marys Altona 7-6.

Altona Green defeated Point Cook P-9 10-9.

Altona Green defeated Newport Gardens 14-1.

The Boys/Mixed Tee Ball team now progress to the Western Metro Region Finals which will be played on Monday August 5th at Keilor Park Softball Diamonds. More information will be given about this event soon.

HOBSONS BAY DIVISION AFL (GIRLS) COMPETITON

Yesterday our Girls AFL team travelled to Saltwater Reserve to participate in the Hobsons Bay Division AFL Girls Competition. They lost their first game against Stella Maris Point Cook by a single point and were unfortunately beaten again in their second game by Altona Primary.

HOBSONS BAY DIVISION HOCKEY 7’s (GIRLS) COMPETITION

Next Friday July 26th our Girls Hockey team will be participating in the Hobsons Bay Division Girls Hockey 7’s Competition to be held at Altona Hockey Club. We wish them the best of luck.

ALTONA GREEN ATHLETICS CARNIVAL FRIDAY AUGUST 2nd

We have our annual Athletics Carnival coming up on Friday August 2nd (Week 3) at Newport Park Athletics Track and we need as many volunteers as possible to help make this day run as smoothly as possible.
