Student Leadership 2020

On behalf of the whole St Francis Xavier Community, I would like to congratulate Atticus Hetyey, Alexander Griffths, Hannah Kulkins and Ruby Raynes on their appointment as School Captains for 2020. 

All students in Year 5 were given the opportunity to apply to be a school captain. They followed the process of writing a letter of application and provided the school leadership team with a portfolio demonstrating their strengths and achievements. From this, a group of ten students were then shortlisted and asked to write a speech outlining why they would like to be School Captain and the leadership qualities that they possess. These ten students bravely and confidently delivered their speech to staff and the Year 4 and Year 5 student body. 

I would like to congratulate and thank all students who tried out to be a School Captain and make a special mention to the final six students who ‘wowed and entertained us with their remarkable and humble speeches. Well done to Esther Howden, Stella Rheinberger, Lucy Kerr, Alyssa Guastella, Huw Warrillow and Patrick Johnston who were part of the final selection process. 

All other Year 5 students have given their preferences for a leadership position for 2020 and will be notified at the beginning of the 2020 school year, of the position that they have secured.

Good Luck to all of our future Year 6’s in their job as leaders of our school.
