Year 3 Camp

Some reflections from our Year 3s on their recent camp at Mt Evelyn;

Katie 3A - My personal goal was to go to sleep when the teachers tell me to. I doubt that I have achieved my goal on the first night since I giggled quite a lot, though on the second night I had a much better sleep. The highlight of camp for me was seeing all the animals in the wildlife encounter room. This is because I got to see and touch lots of different animals that I would have not usually seen or touched. I think I loved touching the monotremes and the birds the most.

Sid 3A - The highlight of camp for me was going to the top of the giant swing the most challenging part of camp for me was kaos because it was chaos. If I could tell the next years cabins one thing I would do is be happy of who I’m with. if I could change one thing about camp it would’ve be to stay there for longer.

Aarav 3A - The highlight of camp for me was the giant swing because I went all the way to the top which is 18 meters. The most challenging part of camp for me was staying away from my family and trying new food. The burger and the damper I liked. If I could tell next years campers one thing it would be when you go to camp put your fun socks on. If I could tell next years campers one thing it would be practice camping by staying at a friends house and have fun.

Felix 3B - If I could tell next year's campers one thing it would be everyone should try it.

Nhi 3B- The highlight of camp for me was the wildlife room because looking at all the animals was fascinating to just look at how realistic they look. The most challenging part of camp for me was the high rope because it was so high it was too scary for me so as soon as I got to the top of the ladder I just got scared and went down. If I could tell next year’s campers one thing would be that the activities are really fun and to give them a try. If I could change one thing about the camp it would be dinner on the first day because I did not like the spaghetti dinner on the first day.

Ella 3B - The highlight of camp for me was crate stacking because it was basically a really fun game made up with teamwork and how you react to others that are playing with you, even though it was still a scary activity everyone in my team managed to get very high! We all helped each other kindly. The most challenging part of camp for me was sometimes to sleep in a different place that I would normally sleep and sleeping with more people unlike at my own home or a sleepover. If I could tell the next years campers it would be to be careful in all activities especially when it is a wet day, and that teamwork will always be the key to all activities no matter how many people there are in your group.

Alex S 3C - The most challenging part of camp was going to the top of the giant swing because it is very, very high. If l could tell the next year’s campers one thing, it would be that camp is very fun because you get to sleep with your friends and there are a lot of fun activities. If l could change one thing about camp it would be changing the giant swing height to 20m because l want to go higher.

Arnav 3C - The highlight of camp for me was: being able to be with my friends. The most challenging part of camp was: to do the high ropes course. If I could tell next year’s campers one thing it would be: that camp is very very FUN!

Viabhav 3C - My highlight for Camp was the Giant Swing. It was so fun I went all the way to the top 18 meters. How cool. The most challenging thing was my homesickness. If I could tell next years something it would be have lots of fun!

Sebastian 3D - The highlight of camp was holding a python. It went up my face! It was a once-in-a-lifetime minute. Exceptional! The most challenging part for me of camp was High Ropes. I didn’t complete level 1. Still, don’t get me wrong. They give you a harness and hang you 3 to 5 metres in the air with only one or two ropes that you can hold on to! Now THAT is challenging.

Neve H 3D - The highlight of camp for me was spending time with my friends because I was in the same cabin and activity group with them. If I could change one thing about camp it would be to be able to choose where we sit at dinner, lunch and breakfast. The most challenging part of camp for me was going to sleep.

Myles 3D -  The highlight on camp was giant swing, the most challenging thing was crate stack, I could tell year 2’s that you will love the giant swing, I would change nothing because it was great

Aksh 3D - If I told the campers next camping trip it would be that they don't step in mud and puddles and cold ones because you're on a mountain.
