Welcome back to all students and families to 2019. A special welcome to Year 7 who were officially welcomed at the February 14th High Achievers Assembly where we acknowledged outstanding HSC achievements from the Class of 2018 and outstanding academic achievers in each Year in 2018. We had a packed MPC for this annual occasion and were so pleased to welcome back so many of the HSC Class of 2018 to be offically acknowledged for their achievements.

Thank you to staff members coordinating the assembly Ms Burgess, Ms Dunn and Ms Fountas, to Office staff for their support and to Ms Di Rosario and Year 12 Hospitality for their catering.
2018 concluded with a fantastic day of Picnics for all Years, including Year 7 at Royal National Park, Year 8 at Moore Park Strike Bowling, Year 9 at Luna Park, Year 10 at Cockatoo Island, Year 11 at Manly. Thanks to Year Advisers for their organisation.
Student mentors in Years 8 and 9 concluded their leadership training in December with relieving Wellbeing Coordinator Ms Fountas, ready to welcome Year 7, 2019 in 4 sessions of transition to high school covering finding your way around, using your timetable and diary, making friends and anti-bullying.
The Recognition Assembly in December was our annual formal recognition of students who have excelled in learning, sport and performing arts. With a swathe of outstanding HSC results from the cohort of 2018 we particularly congratulated Lucy Melville, 1st in French and Coco Wang, 2nd in Advanced English on that day. Both attended the February 2019 High Achievers Assembly along with many others from the class of 2018 to receive plaques in recognition of their attainment of Bands 5 and 6 in individual courses. Thank you to Recognition Assembly coordinator Ms Debra Barford, ably assisted by Ms Fountas.
