Joeys Yarning Space 

We acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional custodians, 

past and present of this land of the Anaiwan, Banbai, Dunghutti, 

Jukambal, Kambuwal, Weraerai, Kamilaroi, Ngoorabul and Gumbaynggirr as acknowledged by Armidale Lands Council, people who long before us lived, 

loved and raised their children on this land. 

We also acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families 

in our community and acknowledge their deep physical 

and spiritual connections to the land.

Dhiiyaan- Family 

We have been doing some dhirrabuu (flash) work in our space the last few weeks! 

Family has been an important topic, and who we identify as our family and our whole school Dhiiyaan/family, and what that means to us.

We have also worked on a whole school collaborative art piece, of the rainbow serpent, showing the children that no matter our differences we can all come together and create something beautiful, together.
