Our big room students have been working on writing persuasive texts, presenting convincing arguments on ‘Why reading is important.’ Here are some of their thoughts…

The Premier’s Reading Challenge has arrived for 2023. The challenge requires children reading books (or being read to) from selected lists, logging them online with the PRC and receiving a completion certificate later in the year. The challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for pleasure in students and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge for each student to read, to read more and to read more widely. The Koala class will participate as a group and their challenge will be completed at school. Next term, if your child is interested in participating in the 2023 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) they will receive a permission note to complete. Please return their signed note to their class teacher. Passwords will be provided once notes are returned.

More information about the challenge is available by visiting the PRC website:

Congratulations to all students who were involved you completed all the tasks extremely well, you should be very proud of yourself. We must give a massive thank you to Mrs Koch for all her efforts in getting students prepared and ready for the tasks. Thank you

There has been a great uptake of RED reading. Please continue to encourage you son or daughter to read every day to build their love of reading and help them become a better reader.
