Prep - 2:

In the past few weeks students in the Early Year's students have been continuing to develop their fundamental skills of throwing and catching using a variety of different objects and equipment. One of the big skills that students in this age group need to remember is to keep their eye on the ball at all times. It has been great seeing the progression of skills from the start of the year to now. Well done to all our early year students.

3-6:

Middle and Senior Year's students have been focusing on small team games such as 'Capture the Flag' and 'Dodgeball' that incorporate teamwork and good sportsmanship. Well done to all our Middle and Senior students on a great first semester.

State Football:

Congratulation to Sol Zak who has again been selected for the Victorian State Football team. Sol was the only Shepparton student to be successful in making the team. Nate Warren has just missed out but has been named as an emergency. Sol will be playing in a week-long carnival in Adelaide from the 6th of August. Well done Sol on great representation of St Luke’s. We wish Sol all the best for the carnival and hopefully, he can help our school team in Benalla on the 5th of August.

Regional Cross County:

Last Friday we had three students head to Winton Motor Raceway for Regional Cross Country.

In tough conditions, all three run as hard as they could. Samantha finished in 24 position in a time of 14.26 for 3 km. Nate finished in 39th position in a time of 13.00 for 3km. Clancy finished in 8th place in a time of 11.33 for 3km which means that he now travels to Melbourne early next term for state cross country. Well done to all three runners and we wish Clancy all the best for State.

State Basketball Tryouts:

Over the holiday St Luke’s will have two representatives trying out for the State Basketball team. Both Cody Munro and Nate Warrin have made it through to final selection of the state basketball tryouts. The tryout will be held in Werribee over the holidays. We wish both students the best of luck.
