From the Principal
Mr Simon Harvey
Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, Staff and Friends of St Norbert College,
The beginning of any school year brings so much excitement. Seeing familiar faces in familiar surrounds, sharing stories from time spent away and of course, embarking on a new timetable with new teachers and class mates. This year, regardless of the challenges of recent times, still had an air of excitement, an excitement that is still palpable three weeks into term.
As a College, we welcomed 167 new Year 7 students, 17 new students into the other year groups and a really exciting list of staff joining our College community. It is a special pleasure each year to introduce our new staff;

Julie Couper Education Assistant
Emilie Gawley Religious Education
Anna Greene Head of Year 7

Jane-Marie Lee Education Assistant

We always mark the commencement of the year with some very exciting events, none more so than the annual Year 12 College Ball. The ball is an important milestone in the lives of our graduating class. It provides the opportunity for our senior students to gather to celebrate the start of their final year at the College and to recognise the special friendships that they have made, and experiences that they have shared, over the years.
This year’s College Ball was held at the East Fremantle Yacht Club on Friday, 28 January, following some dramatic days to secure an alternate venue following changes to State Government venue vaccination requirements. Students represented themselves and the College really well as they shared a very enjoyable and entertaining evening together. We are very grateful to Miss Pisconeri, Miss Rainford and staff and student members of the Ball Committee for their considerable efforts in ensuring the success of the night. Thank you also to the College staff for their support of the event. Please take some time to view the photos in this newsletter.
This year has again been affected by COVID-19 regulations and restrictions. Thank you to our community for their understanding and support with respect to COVID communications over the first few weeks. It is disappointing to have to cancel or postpone significant annual events such as the College Community Mass and the Inter-House Swimming Carnival, but we are resolved to following the almost constantly changing guidelines to do our best to minimise the spread of COVID infections and maintain the health and safety of our students and staff as a priority.
Ultimately, we want the students, staff and families of our College to have a wonderful year in 2022 and we look forward to sharing that with you all.
God Bless.
Mr S Harvey (Principal)
