Meet our New School and House Captains

I would like to congratulate Mahnoor Irfan and Zahra Osman (pictured above left, in uniform) for being elected as the School Captains for 2021. Both girls have demonstrated that they are responsible, caring and organised members of our school and we are confident that they will do a fantastic job. Below they share with you a few words.
Zahra
Assalamu alaikum, My name is Zahra. I am in Year 6 and I am a Taqwa School Captain. I have been in Taqwa School since 2015 so it has now been 6 years since I have been in this school. I like this school because I have been in it my whole life (except preschool). I have made so many friends and I have experienced learning with so many different teachers from other religions and cultures. I love this school because it is an Islamic School and we celebrate Ramadan and Eid. As a student, I am very happy that I go to this school! This year I plan to help the school as much as I can since I am a School Captain. I have always tried to support this school but this year I finally have a chance to make tiny changes to the school. As I said in my speech “I will try to make this school a better place” and “I have many ideas to make the school happy”. By the end of this year one of these things will happen Inshallah.
From Mahnoor
My name is Mahnoor and I am in year six. I am a school captain. I hope to create lots of new ideas to brighten the school. I want Taqwa School to be a fun and bright learning place for all students to enjoy.
Our house captains this year are:
Maheer Hossain: Omar
Habeba Salousa: Uthman
Zahra Osman: Ali
Mahnoor Irfan: Abu Bakr
From Maheer:
Assalamualaikum I am Maheer Hossain. I ran for School Captain and thanks to the kids of Taqwa School I was voted house captain. I am multilingual, and can help new kids with their language. I am a math genius. Another one of my qualities is that I am very helpful. I was one of the people who helped with the setup for the tv for 5/6 . I am looking forward to helping the school this year.
From Habeba
My name is Habeba Salousa and I am in year 6. I am the house captain for the Uthman House. I have been in Taqwa School for almost 7 years. I am happy to be a Taqwa School student because in this school we get to do things that we don’t usually do in other schools like Quran and Islamic studies. Being house captain gives me the opportunity to improve this school by having fun activities that can be held during recess and lunch that will InshAllah, raise money for the school.
