BIG Summer Read Lucky Draw

The library prepared an eye-catching display and reading log sheets for the BIG Summer Read.

This is a wonderful initiative by Public Libraries Victoria to address the backslide of literacy over the summer break. Schools were invited to join in too.

The challenge ran from 1 December 2022 to 31 January 2023. 

Students who submitted their Summer Read log sheets were placed in a lucky draw. All participants received a certificate, a small treat, and the winner a $50 Booktopia Gift Voucher!

VHAP Program 

Our Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP) students for Maths and English stream classes meet in the library throughout the year. This is a key initiative of the Students Excellence Program where each week, students are provided with the opportunity to extend their learning in a 10-week program. The Department of Education selects students from Year 7 & 8 each term based on their common assessment tasks and NAPLAN scores. The lessons are delivered via Virtual School Victoria. Students are expected to catch up with any work they may have missed out on in their general classes.
