LIBRARY NEWS

WELCOME BACK!

The library is a great place for students to come in and do some quiet reading, find out about new books, sit and study or catch up on schoolwork. We are open everyday from 8:30am to 4:30pm except on Fridays when we close at 3:30pm. Students are very welcome in the library before and after school and at recess and lunch times.

We have a vast range of fiction including novels, comics, short stories,  picture books and non-fiction including biographies, reference books and textbooks on our shelves to satisfy all readers. We also subscribe to a great collection of ebooks and online databases to help with assignments or for personal interest.

Our collection can be accessed through our website at:

library.footscray.vic.edu.au  but there is always someone at the circulation desk waiting to help with staff and student queries.

We offer a range of extracurricular clubs and also host various events and activities throughout the school year to support and enhance the school's curriculum.

So whatever your information or reading needs may be, the FCC library is the place to go for professional, helpful service. We really enjoy helping you find the perfect book or the info you need for your schoolwork and we look forward to working with you in 2017.

VALENTINE’S SPECIAL DELIVERIES

On Friday 17th of February, three of our very talented Year 11 students made special Valentine’s deliveries and serenades around our school.  Messages were delivered for $3 and serenades were performed for $5.  This year broke the record with over 35 serenades performed.  Money raised will go towards the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.  The foundation aims to improve literacy levels and opportunities for Indigenous children living in the most remote and isolated parts of Australia. http://www.indigenousliteracyfoundation.org.au/

Many thanks to Mia Brittain, Maxine Palmerson and Jamie Brown for making the deliveries and for their wonderful serenades.  Thanks also to all the staff and students for supporting the day.
