NAPLAN

NAPLAN testing has officially kicked off for students across Australia, with millions of learners in Years 3 and Year 5 taking part over the coming weeks. The nationwide assessment measures key skills in reading, writing, language conventions and numeracy, providing schools, teachers and families with a snapshot of how students are progressing in these core areas.

While the tests are an important tool for tracking learning and identifying areas for improvement, education leaders continue to emphasise that NAPLAN is just one part of a student’s overall learning journey. Schools are encouraging students to approach the assessments with confidence, do their best, and remember that the results help guide future teaching and support.

Spotlight on Stage 3!

Stage 3 students have well and truly settled into the year and are actively engaging in their learning across a range of subjects. Classrooms have been busy with students building on their literacy and numeracy skills while also exploring new topics through discussion, research and collaborative activities.

This week has also seen many of our Stage 3 students participating in NAPLAN, approaching the assessments with focus and resilience. We are proud of the way students have prepared and the positive attitude they have shown throughout the testing period.

Beyond the classroom, Stage 3 students continue to demonstrate leadership and responsibility within the school community. Whether supporting younger students, working together on group tasks, or taking on new challenges, they are showing the confidence and independence that are hallmarks of this stage of learning.

It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and effort so far this term, and we look forward to the continued growth and achievements of our Stage 3 learners as the term progresses.
