Reading

We will continue to read through the text, ‘The Silver Donkey’ and then move onto  

‘Us Mob Walawarru’. We will focus on students' comprehension skills and fluency when reading these texts. 

Writing

Topics will be fables and factual recounts.  

Within our English units, we focus on spelling and vocabulary, looking at words from our class novel and identifying a range of prefixes and suffixes. Within reading the text we will discuss a range of literary devices, such as similes, metaphors, personification, idioms, imagery and repetition. In our writing we will look at using adjectives and adverbial phrases to add detail to our sentences and writing compound and complex sentences to expand on our ideas. Students will continue to take home their class novel for nightly reading.
