Health & PE

It has been another busy and active fortnight in Health and Physical Education!

Students across the school have been enthusiastically practising their dance routines in preparation for our assembly performances. This week, our Grade 4–6 students took to the stage with confidence, proudly showcasing the routine they have been working hard to perfect. Their confidence and performance skills were wonderful to see, and we look forward to more class performances over the coming weeks.

In Health, students have continued exploring our Personal Safety and Help-Seeking unit through engaging class discussions and role-play activities. They have been learning about body autonomy, consent, and how to respectfully give, deny and seek permission in a range of everyday situations.

With the cooler winter weather continuing, students have enjoyed warming up with skipping before developing their striking skills through the game of T-ball. As they practise batting, throwing, catching and running between bases, students are also building teamwork, communication and resilience in a fun and supportive environment.  All grades will continue to focus on their skipping skills along with striking skill development this term through the games of cricket and tennis, before we finish the term with a focus on athletics.

Looking ahead, our Grade 3–6 students will have the opportunity to participate in the upcoming District Cricket and Tennis Day in September. Grade 5/6 students will be able to choose, and play, the sport they would like to represent the school in, whilst our Grade 3/4 students will participate in clinics focused on participation and skill development.  We look forward to sharing more information with families soon.
