DRAWING CLUB - Commonwealth Games

In Drawing Club, students celebrated the Commonwealth Games by creating colourful Glasgow, Scotland flags and Australian Flags learning about the countries that are part of the Commonwealth. Students explored where different Commonwealth nations are located around the world and discussed how countries come together through sport, culture, and friendship during the Commonwealth Games. They used a variety of colours and patterns to design their flags and proudly shared their creations with their peers. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about global connections while expressing their creativity through art. 🌏🏴🎨

PREP/YEAR 2/YEAR 4

In Prep, Year 2, and Year 4, students began their Visual Arts journey this term by exploring the purpose of Visual Arts and discussing the expectations and values that help create a safe, respectful, and creative Art Room environment. Students learned why school values are important and how they can demonstrate these values during Visual Arts lessons. They then completed a drawing activity of their choice, which allowed them to use their imagination to create detailed and creative artworks while I gathered observational and assessment information to support future planning and goal setting. Throughout the lesson, students practised following instructions, taking their time, trying their best, and using art materials carefully and responsibly. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, creativity, and excitement as they started their Visual Arts learning this term! 🎨✨

YEAR 1

In Year 1, students explored the exciting concept of printing by creating a Panda Fork Painting. They learned that printing involves using tools to press paint onto paper to create repeated marks and textures. Using black and white acrylic paint and plastic forks, students experimented with different printing techniques to create fur-like textures on their panda artworks. In the following lesson, they completed their pandas by adding collage features such as ears, eyes, noses, and bamboo using paper, cardboard, and googly eyes. Throughout the project, students focused on shape, size, texture, and careful craftsmanship while developing their fine motor skills through cutting, gluing, printing, and creating detailed mixed-media artworks. It was wonderful to see their creativity and excitement as their pandas came to life! 🐼🎨
