I’d like to start with a very heartfelt thankyou to all of the students, parents and teachers who made Principal’s day such a lovely celebration. We have been inundated with cards, flowers, chocolates, morning tea and some lovely letters explaining what they think the principal does all day and what they would do if they were Principal. These were very entertaining …
There’s plenty of grand ideas, such as, class pets, shopping trips, ice cream, a free canteen, trips to the zoo and build a school water park.
When I’m finished watching Netflix and drinking coffee all day I’ll have a think about which ideas would be the best to implement.
We were so lucky to share this day with some other great milestones ...
100 Days and 1000+ Days
Our Prep students proudly celebrated their 100th day of school! There were smiles, laughter, creative costumes and quite a few 100-year-olds wandering the playground. In just 100 days, our newest learners at EVPS have mastered classroom routines, made wonderful friendships and discovered that EVPS is the best place to be.
Not to be outdone, our Year 6 students joined the celebrations with their own milestone … 1,000+ days brighter!When our current Year 6's started Prep in 2020, COVID had other plans. Instead of celebrating 100 days at school together, many of those days were spent learning from kitchen tables and lounge rooms. So this year, we decided it was time to make up for it. Our Preps are just beginning their school adventure and our Year 6 students are preparing for the next one.
Exciting News! Refurbished Toilets Open on Monday
We’re excited to announce that our newly refurbished Blue and Purple toilets will officially open on Monday!
Following a $200,000 refurbishment, the facilities will provide a cleaner, brighter and more welcoming space for our students. We're committed to providing high-quality learning environments and ensuring our school facilities are kept up to date.
With these new facilities comes a shared responsibility. We ask parents to discuss the importance of treating our toilets with respect with your children also.
We ask all students to take pride in these spaces by treating them with care and respect. Please help keep the toilets clean and tidy, use the facilities appropriately, and remember that looking after our school is everyone’s responsibility.
If you notice something isn’t working, has been damaged, or needs attention, don’t walk past it—be an Upstander! Let a teacher or the office know so we can address the issue quickly. Speaking up helps keep the toilets clean and functional for everyone.
Teachers will continue to monitor and implement strategies that maximise learning time for students. Teachers are also committed to giving students brain breaks during learning so that toilet breaks are only taken when they are absolutely necessary as most students should be able to manage toilet breaks at recess and lunchtime.
Berry St Professional Learning
We recently spent time during our Berry Street Education Model professional learning exploring practical strategies to help students build their stamina for learning and strengthen their motivation to engage in classroom activities. These approaches support students to remain focused for longer periods, persevere when learning becomes challenging, and develop the confidence and resilience needed to become successful, independent learners. We look forward to embedding these strategies into our classrooms to further enhance student engagement and achievement.
Book Week coming soon!
2027 Foundation (Prep) enrolment applications closed recently. All schools follow the statewide enrolment timeline. Families will be soon be provided with the enrolment confirmation letter. We are now beginning to plan classes for 2027 so if you are yet to put in your application or know anyone that hasn’t, please do this immediately so that our planning is accurate. Information about Prep transition sessions will be shared soon.
Are you moving on in 2027?
We are now well and truly in the planning phase for 2027 and as such it is important that we have an accurate indication of our student numbers for next year. If you are planning on relocating at the end of the year or leaving us for any other reasons, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can best support the transition of your child to another school setting. Use this link to let us know if you are moving schools in 2027.
It was very unfortunate that we were unable run our Stand Up Parent session last night, however we will have a new date for you by early next week.

At EVPS, we love celebrating the achievements of our students both in and out of school. If your child has recently participated in a sporting event, performed in the arts, achieved success in a community activity, or has an interesting extracurricular story to share, we would love to feature them in our Student Spotlight section.
