Shoes of Peace

What kind of shoes would you wear to climb a steep mountain? Or to walk across a frozen, slippery lake? 

The path doesn't change, but the right footwear can make all the difference. Just as strong shoes provide stability, grip, and confidence on difficult ground, God gives us something even more important for life's journey... His peace.

In Ephesians 6:15, Paul encourages us to have our "feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace." 

Writing from prison while guarded by Roman soldiers, Paul used the soldier's armour to remind us that God provides everything we need to stand strong. Roman soldiers marched incredible distances every day carrying heavy loads, and without the right footwear they wouldn't have been able to do their job. 

In the same way, God's peace helps us remain steady when life becomes difficult.

Life isn't always smooth. We all face challenges at school, at home, and in our friendships. While we can't always change the path we're walking, we can choose to walk it with the peace that comes from knowing Jesus. 

As we put on our shoes each morning, may we remember that while good shoes protect our feet, the Good News of Jesus strengthens our hearts for whatever lies ahead.
