Students are currently completing the preliminaries for the field events (Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump and High Jump) prior to the Athletics Carnival. High Jump will be completed prior to the carnival. We will then have the top six students in each age categories compete in the finals for Shot Put, Discus and Long Jump at the Athletics Carnival. We are also practicing sprinting and relays in preperation for Sports Day.
St Mary's currently is participating with UNE in Athletics clinics involving Sprinting, Throwing and Jumping skills leading up to our Athletics Carnival. Activities this week involved the students using Sport Science equipment to measure their speed over a short distance. This will continue in PE time until the Athletics carnival.
