Welcome to all our new students and families and welcome back to students and families returning this year. The Coburg Wellbeing Team has had a good start to the term, getting to know the new student cohort as well as introducing our new team members

We have 2 new team members this year. Here is a bit about them:

Nic Cornthwaite – Wellbeing Leader: Nic is a Social Worker and has been working in direct practice and Clinical Leadership acrossthe mental health, welfare, and family services sector, here in Melbourne for the last 15 years. Nic has worked with young people and families to understand their needs and to provide meaningful interventions that support the whole family to engage and connect.

Olivia Liddicoat – Wellbeing Officer: Olivia is a Counsellorwho has been working with young people in schools since graduating. Olivia is committed to supporting students through the transition process to high school as well as collaborating with services to ensure our students and families are supported throughout the high school years.

We also have a couple of familiar faces including Shanti Petronzio, who continues in her role as the Mental Health Practitioner and Nat Henry (intro below) who is our School Nurse. Welcome back Shanti and Nat!

Students can reach out to their teachers and the student support team, for their year level, to organise contact with the wellbeing team. Students can also drop in to the wellbeing space at lunch or recess and someone in the team can chat to you about what’s been happening and the support we are able to provide.

If you are looking for us and have not found us yet, we are located in the back right corner of the library!

Hi everyone!

My name is Natalie and I work as the Health Promotion Nurse at Coburg High School every Monday and Friday.  I sit in the Wellbeing space.

I have worked as a nurse in large hospitals across Melbourne, as well as in community health settings. I'm now fortunate to be part of the school community and to have the opportunity to get to know the students at Coburg High.

I am available to meet with students 1:1 to discuss any health concerns, answer questions, and provide reliable health information on a range of topics. I also work closely with the school to support health promotion initiatives and contribute evidence-based health content to the curriculum. (here is some helpful sun damage information from Natalie - with links listed below)
