A Strong and Supportive Start in Inclusive Education

The Inclusive Education Team is delighted to share that the school year has begun on a very positive note. From the first weeks of term, there has been a strong sense of momentum, collaboration and purpose as we continue to support students across all year levels.

One of the most exciting developments has been the commencement of the Playberry Tier 2 Literacy Intervention program, carefully aligned with the School’s new whole-school literacy approach. This alignment ensures consistency in language, strategies and expectations across classrooms and intervention settings, strengthening outcomes for students. The intervention model is similar to programs successfully implemented in previous years, providing a familiar and research-informed framework. It has been very well received so far, particularly in small group and one-on-one settings, where students are already demonstrating increased confidence and engagement in their literacy learning.

Beyond the classroom, the year has also started strongly with excursions and co-curricular activities. The Inclusive Education Team has been actively involved in providing additional support to ensure all students can fully participate and benefit from these experiences. Whether through preparation, in-class adjustments, or on-site assistance, our focus remains on enabling every student to feel included, capable and connected.

We are proud of the collaborative approach between classroom teachers, support staff and families that underpins our work. This strong start reflects a shared commitment to inclusive practice and to meeting students where they are, while helping them move forward with confidence.

We look forward to building on this positive beginning as the year continues.

Blessings
