Student Arrivals

Please remember that families are responsible for providing supervision of their child/ren up until the first bell of the day (8.30am) when classrooms open. If your child arrives at school before this time and you are unable to stay to supervise them, please ensure they go to sit in the Front Office.

Students regularly arriving without an adult before the start of school (8.30am) will need to be booked in the OSHC service.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping our children safe.

Introduction of our FL Class

At a recent assembly, our FL Foundation students were introduced by their Year 6 buddies. This was another special celebration shared with many of our families. We also introduced and prayed for our student leaders who are mentioned elsewhere in this newlsetter.

Pilgrim School Family Community Event

Thanks to all the families who attended our Marion Outdoor Pool Community Event in February. It was a beautiful afternoon and a great opportunity to connect with each other.

Special thanks to our P&F for providing a free sausage sizzle on the afternoon, especially those who volunteered to cook and serve (Shaun, Andy, Dee, Enoch, Donovan).

Toys at School

We ask that students please do not bring toys to school unless they are specifically needed for news talks or there has been prior consultation between the Inclusive Education Coordinator or the class teacher and the parent/caregiver. This helps minimize distractions and ensures a focused learning environment for all students.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Student Representative Council

One of the great strengths of Pilgrim School is the way our students step forward with ideas, initiative and heart for others. Our Student Representative Council (SRC) plays an important role in capturing student voice and turning great ideas into meaningful action.

The SRC is made up of students elected by their peers to represent their classes and contribute to the life of our school. Across the year, they will meet regularly to share feedback, explore new initiatives, support school events and help shape decisions that impact student experience. Their role is not only to lead, but to listen - ensuring every student feels heard, valued and connected.

Being part of the SRC is a wonderful opportunity to grow in confidence, collaboration and leadership, while serving our community in practical ways.

I am delighted to congratulate the following students on being elected as our 2026 SRC Representatives:

  • Year 1/2F – Chloe T
  • Year 1/2O – Harriet M
  • Year 1/2W – Lucy C
  • Year 3/4H – Chloe R and Jacob P
  • Year 3/4B – Holly and Vaughn
  • Year 5/6M – Rodin and Josh
  • Year 5/6S – Alexis V and Grace
  • Executive Leaders – Yasmin and Ethan

Mentoring at Pilgrim (MAP) Program

(Building confidence, self esteem, relationships as a volunteer one-to-one)

Being a Pilgrim Mentor is a wonderful way to be involved in the wider community at Pilgrim School with a focus on developing student confidence and ability to achieve success and to be a friend.

Students and mentors meet one-to-one at the same time weekly for one lesson. Mentors are carefully matched to build upon each individual student’s strengths, interests and abilities.

Mentoring benefits students because it:

  • is safe, personal and always one-to-one
  • is about relationships
  • builds confidence and self-esteem
  • takes a creative approach to learning
  • promotes community participation in school.

Question: Who are Pilgrim mentors?

Answer: Mentors are volunteers who bring their talents and interests to Pilgrim School, you may be a parent, caregiver, grandparent, secondary or tertiary level student or senior citizen.

If you have the time (1 hour per week) and are interested in helping students please contact us.

Pilgrim mentors will:

  • hold a current Working with Children Check
  • have completed the RRHAN-EC training
  • undertake Protective Practices training
  • act in accordance with the Duty of Care and Professional Boundaries
  • receive an induction pack
  • keep confidential ALL shared information
  • report any first aid matters promptly
  • report any concerns about student safety or welfare to staff immediately
  • participate in a school orientation session.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Volunteering at Pilgrim School

We love having volunteers in a range of roles at Pilgrim School and on Campus. If you have some available time, you may want to help in classrooms (e.g. listening to reading), become involved with a program working regularly with a student or small group of students, sports coaching or managing, fundraising, helping in the Library, or attending camps or excursions.

If you are considering volunteering at Pilgrim School, please read our Volunteers Guidelines and Code of Conduct.

Our highest priority is to ensure we maintain a safe environment at Pilgrim School for all children and members of our school community. All volunteers need to register through our online Volunteer Registration and Agreement form:

As you will see, volunteers need to provide details of a current ‘Working with Children Check’ certificate, 'Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care' (RRHAN-EC) certificate and it is highly recommended they also complete an online Protective Practices training. Details of accessing these trainings are included in the Volunteer Registration and Agreement Form and on our website.

Please continue to sign in and out through the Front Office each time you volunteer at Pilgrim School. Thank you.

Parent Teacher Conferences

We will be holding Parent Teacher Conferences at the end of this term. Please log in to the Compass App or Portal and click on the note about booking a Conference time or click on the 'Conference' tile. You can then choose your child and your chosen time for attending a conference to book.

Conferences are 15 minutes and will be held in the Oasis building. Please wait in the Art/Science Room a few minutes before your interview time in readiness for your child's teacher. We remind you to please not bring your children to the conferences.

Our teaching team look forward to connecting with you and discussing your child’s progress with two opportunities during Week 11:

  • Tuesday 7th April 3.30pm – 8.00pm
  • Thursday 9th April 3.30pm – 6.00pm

Belong and Blossom Playgroup

Belong and Blossom is for children 0 - 5 years old and their parents and/or carers. It takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9.00am - 10.45am during the school term in the Tween room. Please contact the Front Office, so you can receive our weekly emails letting you know about the week ahead. Registration takes place during your first playgroup session.

This is a time to connect with other parents and for your child to begin their connection with Pilgrim and some of the teachers in the Early Years team. We have story, craft and play times. We share fruit together and end our session with a story and some songs.
