Grade 3 Poetry 

The Olympics – George S 3CB

If you want to enter the Olympics, you must have a heart of gold. To win the Olympics you must be brave and bold, If you want to win first prize you must have bravery in your eyes. To win the Olympics you will have some mistakes, sometimes you will have to press the brakes. To be standing on the podium square #1 after those two weeks you would have had a world of fun.

Some sports need a… Some sports need a team, some teams need a dream. From balancing bravely on the beam to seeing the gleam of the gold which it seems, when the 2 weeks are over you will have won first prize with the red-hot fire in your eyes!

The Skateboard – Zara H 3CB

When I first jumped onto a skateboard I felt more excited than ever. I turned, I jumped, I twisted, I went faster than a cheetah flying through the sky. Every time I tumbled, I came back just like a star. 

The Skateboarder – Ellara F

When I first stepped onto my new skateboard, my feet turned, twisted, tumbled and soared. I have sped around a park since I was 6 years old, knowing that one day I would win the gold. I practised and practised every day, I trained, and I trained no matter what they say. I loved it so much I did it even at night, I twirled and twisted and maybe took flight.

You are as high as a jump and as low as limbo you’ll be as brave as a lion when you win the gold and as happy as a quokka and you’ll feel it in your bones.

A dolphin who swam with great speed

One day he planted a seed

So he stayed for a while

With a great big smile

Then his owner picked him up with a lead.

There once was an apple girl from France,

She loves to dance, dance, dance.

She loves her baby seeds

And she always takes the lead

Here she comes with her silly dance.

When you leave the arena, you hold the beauty in your hand,

And your parents are proud

You feel, nice helpful and happy

You feel like jumping on a cloud

You’re tired of running, running, 

But you’re joyful of hearing the crowd

You’re proud of winning gold

You’re very very proud.

To do something you step in

Step by step you will win

To do it you need be bold and old to win the gold

You won the test so now you’re the best

You stand out,

You're the best with no doubt

They are so excited the crowd

You're ears go blank because they are loud.

The Olympians run out, the crowd have no doubt

When they ran out they had to pout, Noah Lyles he ran for miles

Train train train, push away the pain,

When the crowd applause you give them yours,

They fight fight fight with a medal in sight,

The ancient Olympics they competed nude, doesn’t that sound quite rude,

You were told the crowd was bold, Paris to LA all the way,

You hold the gold even though that tradition is old,

When you win you chuck the bad comments in the bin,

The winners have great dinners,

If you hold the flame you know you have fame,

You’re glory is also your story, 

You’re race is just the base of your towering career,

When you hop on your bike you change your gear,

When you win a medal you keep stepping on pedals,

I was told that I was bold because I won gold,

They ride so fast that their tyre’s on fire,

Fin said win, win, win,

You sold the gold, the older aren't always bolder.

And bold,

I got told that I was bold,

Because I got gold.

Going for gold Is not so easy,

You might have been told,

You have to be strong,

But all you need is an ounce of courage,

When you are losing,

You gain inner rage,

Believe in yourself

And you will get gold.

To Win Gold- ZS

To win gold,

That tradition is old.

There is only one to be sold,

Bronze, silver, gold,

To hear the crowd,

Bellowing loud,

To win gold, you mustn’t be old,

To win gold.
