Principal's Report

Dear families,

How quickly the term has gone! It sounds like we are going to have some beautiful weather heading into the holidays.

TATURA SPORTS

On Tuesday our Grade 3-6 students participated in athletics sports at Frank Howley. It made me very proud to see such wonderful sportsmanship.

SCHOOL VALUES

Inclusive

Trustworthy

Respectful

Kind

Over the past few weeks, we have been unpacking our school values of being Trustworthy, Respectful and Inclusive. Children have been giving examples of the type of behaviour which would reflect these values in the classroom, playground and shared spaces.

As you are aware we have commenced the URStrong Program in our school which has complemented the work the children have been doing on values. One of the key messages is "We don’t have to be friends with everyone however we are expected to be kind." At school we are working hard to encourage this characteristic in students. We would appreciate parents reinforcing this message at home.

END TERM ASSEMBLY

Assembly will commence at 1.15pm in the amphitheatre. Students will be dismissed at 2pm. If your child is receiving an award, you will have been notified via Xuno.

WEAN YOUR TEEN (CHILD) OFF THE SCREEN

Andrew Fuller has sent me another of his articles to share with you. This one is linked to technology. It makes interesting reading.

CURRICULUM DAY

School Council on Monday night approved a Professional Practice Day on Monday 6th of November and a Curriculum Day on Wednesday 20th December.

ROAD CLOSURE

We received correspondence from Rail Projects Victoria. There are works being completed on the Wren Street level crossing. Attached in the outline of the construction activity expected for the township. These works may result in Wren street being closed for 8 days in mid October. There will be a detour route via Cummins Road during this time.

Have a lovely holiday with your family,

Regards Heather
