Last Week of Term

Monday, December 8- Casual clothes day at school. We will have an assembly at 8:50 am, during which students will be presented with certificates and other awards for this past term. Parents are very welcome to join us. After assembly, students will finalise everything in their classrooms and spend some time rehearsing for our musical. We plan to celebrate the end of the school year with a free BBQ lunch at school. We will then head to the Irymple Swimming Pool for a bit of a pool party. Students will need to be picked up from the Irymple swimming pool between 3:00 and 3:30 unless they are on the bus. The buses will operate as normal on that day.
Tuesday, December 9 - All students should come to school in their sports uniform. We plan for some activities at school in the morning before heading to the Mildura Arts Centre by bus for rehearsals. Students will need to bring a normal packed lunch as well as a drink bottle. Students need to be picked up from the Mildura Arts Centre at 3:30 pm (not from school). The buses will run as normal. Please do not enter the Arts Centre through the main public entry. Students will exit the rear of the Arts Centre at 3:30pm. If you are early to pick them up, please wait in the rear carpark.
Wednesday, December 10 - All students should come directly to Mildura Arts Centre in casual clothes by 8:50 am. We will rehearse there all morning. Students should bring a snack and a drink bottle. Our buses will run as normal. Please do not use the main public entrance for the Arts Centre. Students not on the bus should be dropped off in the rear carpark for the arts centre. A staff member will be waiting to direct them to the right place from there.
Students should be picked up from MAC at 1pm. Those who normally take the bus home will leave on the bus from MAC at 1pm unless you tell us otherwise. Again, please do not enter the Arts Centre through the main public entry. Students will exit the rear of the Arts Centre at 1pm. If you are early to pick them up, please wait in the rear carpark.
At 6 pm, all students and family and friends should join us at Mildura Arts Centre for our annual Presentation Night. Students should all be dressed in their summer uniform with shoes shined, hair done, and looking their best. Our Prep students will graduate and we will also acknowledge others who have reached important milestones. There will also be the presentation of medals for outstanding achievement over the course of 2025. A short intermission will follow after the awards and before our musical presentation. Light refreshments will be available during the intermission. Students will get ready for our performance, which will get underway at 7:30 pm and will be finished by 8:30 pm. We know this is a late night for our younger students. For that reason, we encourage the younger ones to take the opportunity to rest and enjoy some downtime on Wednesday afternoon.
Attendance In the Last Week and at Presentation Night
We're looking forward to having all students participate in all the activities of the final week of the year. All students are expected to attend Presentation Night, and all students have some sort of role in our school musical. Some are singing solos, or acting a specific role, or have a specific task that must be done by them. If they cannot be there on the night, we'll need to reassign that role to someone else. In order to be well prepared for presentation night, attendance at all of the activities is important. We understand that, even if trying to avoid it, some families may have other commitments that require them to miss Presentation Night and/or the rehearsals. If that is the case for your family, please be sure to let us know as soon as possible.
It will be great to see you all at our Presentation Night. There are plenty of seats at the Arts Centre. Why not invite family and friends? Perhaps you know people who might not be all that interested in our awards. They are more than welcome to join us just for the musical.
