Advent & Christmas

What a wonderful celebration of faith Wednesday night was! Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated the nativity with us. It was so special to see our students filled with joy and the magic of Christmas.

This four-week season of Advent is not just about counting down to Christmas; it is a time of meaningful preparation. We are focusing on how we can "prepare the way" for Jesus. This means actively working to clear away worries, share our hope with others, choose peace over argument, and fill our days with small acts of love and kindness. We invite all families to join us in this special time of waiting by making space in their hearts for Christ.

We will continue this preparation next week, with our third Advent liturgy.  We will take time to acknowledge that we have reached the midpoint of Advent. This week was Peace, and on Monday we will change our tone and focus on Joy! This is Gaudete Sunday—Gaudete means "Rejoice!"—and it reminds us that Christmas is very close. The reason for our joy is the certainty that Christ is already among us, bringing hope and peace.
