Happy Week 6!

Faithful Foresters - New Chickens

We are blessed to have received an amazing donation of $500 towards our new chickens, their feed and upkeep from The Quirindi Community Pantry! Along with this, our own superstar St Joey's families have also made contributions, bringing in cash from their recycled cans.  Not only have we managed to raise enough money to purchase new chickens in spring, and re-vitalise their coop but we have secured funds for their feed for many months!

A big "Well Done" also goes to the students, who as part of the Faithful Foresters, brainstormed this idea as a possible fundraiser; what a great reminder of the power of student voice!

Thank you so much for supporting our school garden and student projects!

Reconciliation & Wellbeing Afternoon

This term, our Stage 1 students have been exploring the Sacrament of Reconciliation, learning about love, grace, and the power of healing relationships.

We hold five of our St Joey's students in our prayers as they prepare to make their First Reconciliation on Thursday, 27th August at 6:00 PM, St Brigid’s Church.

To mark this meaningful step in their faith journey, our whole school will enjoy a Wellbeing Afternoon on Thursday, 27th August. The afternoon will feature:

  • Student-Led Liturgy: Stage 1 will present a special liturgy based on their learning about reconciliation and forgiveness.

  • Movie Celebration: Following the liturgy, students will watch Encanto, exploring its wonderful central themes of family, understanding, and forgiveness.  If you have not already given permission for your child to view this PG rated movie, please do this as a matter of urgency, via the 'Insights' section of Compass.

We invite our school community to keep these five candidates and their families in your thoughts and prayers as they take this important step.

We warmly invite all of our St Joey's families, especially our dada, grandads, uncles and father figures, to come along for a bacon and egg sandwich (on us!) and some games, from 8am on Friday the 4th September.  It is expected that the morning festivities will wrap up by 9am.

Please RSVP for catering purposes here, indicating family name and how many sandwiches your family would like (including both students and those adults who will be coming along).

Family Mass - Save the Date & RSVP

Please RSVP your availability at this link by Thursday 26th August, so we can prepare students with readings and other jobs.

This will be Father's Day.  While we know this may impact some families ability to attend, for those who are able we can celebrate our dads at Mass and enjoy a bite to eat at the morning tea before moving onto our other plans for the day.
