Student Voice

Student Council

On Tuesday 4 August, our Year 9 and 10 student leaders had the exciting opportunity to attend the Youth Voice and Local Democracy Forum at the Springvale Community Hub, alongside student leaders from several other local schools.

Throughout the morning, we participated in a range of engaging and interactive workshops that deepened our understanding of democracy, voting, advocacy and the important role young people play in shaping their communities. We explored how our voices can influence positive change and learnt practical ways to advocate for issues that affect us and our communities.

The forum was both educational and enjoyable, leaving us feeling more confident about participating in local democracy and using our voices to create positive change. To finish off our amazing day, we were treated to a classic democracy sausage, which was the perfect way to celebrate a fun, informative and incredibly memorable experience.

We are very grateful for the opportunity and look forward to putting what we learnt into practice within our school and wider community.
